McLaren Engineering Group’s Lower Westchester Bundled Bridges Design-Build project has been awarded the ASCE Lower Hudson Valley Tappan Zee Large Project of the Year Award!
McLaren’s geomatics, bridge, highway, civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering teams along with their subconsultants Schnabel Engineering, Hunt Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Prudent Engineering LLP worked with contractor, Halmar International to provide multidisciplinary design-build services to replace bridges and culverts and make ground improvements against the increasing frequency of severe weather events and storms in Westchester.
The NYSDOT infrastructure project aimed to mitigate frequent flooding concerns along sections of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Pleasantville, the Hutchinson River Parkway in Mt. Vernon/Pelham and Route 1 in Mamaroneck. The work included the replacement of seven bridges, the installation of two major bypass culverts, 1,700 feet of soil stabilization along the Saw Mill River Parkway and highway, drainage, utility, traffic and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) improvements along each high-volume corridor.
