Brooklyn Steel
Wins Again

Brooklyn Steel, a 1,800 capacity music club, has won the 2018 BQDA Brooklyn People’s Choice Award! McLaren provided structural and geotechnical engineering services on this eccentric concert venue in Brooklyn, NY. From the initial feasibility studies to construction phase support, the McLaren team helped convert this once bare warehouse to an impressive music hall! McLaren engineered a green roof over the existing roof to act as an “acoustic lid” for the venue, and a 40-foot-wide moveable stage giving the venue the ability to provide a more intimate space for smaller acts. Read more about the project and other 2018 BQDA awards.
