Disaster Recovery was his most Memorable Project in his Career

After a 45-year career, V. Douglas Platt, a senior structural engineer for our firm has retired. At his going-away party, Douglas talked about Superstorm Sandy, and how McLaren’s disaster recovery work was a pivotal moment in his career. “We were the first people contacting and giving answers to the people affected by the storm,” said V. Douglas Platt. After the hurricane, Douglas spent the rest of his career engineering ways to address beachfront restoration, waterfront resiliency and plans to mitigate future storms.
