CIANJ Best Practice Award Goes to Mal McLaren

CIANJ Best Practice Award
Goes to Mal McLaren

The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) recently held the 5th Annual Best Practice Conference to salute business leadership in West Orange, New Jersey. Congratulations to our Founder & CEO, Mal McLaren, for being honored with the ‘Best Practice’ award for the work he has done to empower the employees at McLaren for the past 40+ years!

“We became an Employee Owned Company five years ago, an ESOP, said Mal. “Once the culture is developed, having an ownership mentality becomes a driving force in creating leaders, risk takers and innovators. We spend a great deal of time together as one big team, although we are scattered in 10 offices around the country. We all gather in one place for our annual holiday party. We all celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the company by taking a boat ride together around New York. And we all share successes by representing compelling and interesting projects at regularly scheduled lunches. We resist creating silos among all divisions and offices, and bonuses are shared as the result of the company’s success-not an individual department. This encourages sharing of resources, leads and contact.”
