Bridge navigating through Newtown Creek.
Last week, McLaren provided naval architecture and navigation services to help transport the old Kosciuszko Bridge in Queens, NY to a recycling plant in New Jersey. McLaren assisted in calculating the barge stability and vessel arrangement for the lowering, loading, and lashing of the 300-foot trestle.
McLaren also determined the movement of barges carrying the large center span of the bridge through Newtown Creek, with respect to the barge configuration, positioning of the bridge span on the barges, navigational restrictions, USCG restrictions and general feasibility.
We’re excited to share that McLaren Engineering Group is now part of KCI Technologies Inc., a 100% employee-owned firm offering engineering and consulting across all markets, and construction for communications and environmental projects.
