NYC Marathon
Media Bridge Engineering

Huge congratulations to our Entertainment Engineers, Matthew Saide, PE, and Nadia Itani, EIT, who not only completed the grueling NYC Marathon but also played a pivotal role in developing the event’s Media Bridge infrastructure that gives the press bird’s eye view of the finish line.

The team worked behind the scenes, collaborating with BNW Rigging INC to engineer the temporary elevated structure, predominantly utilizing ModTruss Inc. components with custom connection elements. Constructed like an erector set, they brought to life a self-climbing prefabricated build featuring two robust independent towers with an intermediate bridge that spans almost 50 feet, and an LED banner running its full length. A 20-foot-wide LED screen also extends from the right side of the media and press platform assembly, cantilevered from the tower’s face.

Members of the team came out to perform the pre-race inspections of the structure and then rallied around our runners with an outpouring of enthusiasm and support during the race!
