The Floating Wetland Habitat in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor
Officially Opens

The National Aquarium’s Harbor Wetland has officially opened its doors to the public, following a successful ribbon-cutting ceremony! This 10,000-square-foot floating wetland exhibit in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor marks the culmination of 14 years of planning, innovation, and collaboration.

The Harbor Wetland recreates a vital salt marsh habitat, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the ecological wonders of the Chesapeake Bay. By restoring this habitat, the exhibit not only improves water quality and attracts native species but also serves as an educational platform, highlighting the importance of wetland ecosystems.

McLaren Engineers Help Transform Baltimore's Inner Harbor with New Harbor Wetland Exhibit

McLaren’s Marine and Structural Engineering teams have played a vital role in this transformative project, applying a multidisciplinary approach that will create a positive impact on both the environment and the community. Best of all, the Harbor Wetland is free to the public and open whenever the National Aquarium is open. Be sure to visit and explore this exciting new attraction, located between Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Piers 3 and 4!
