Tribeca Film Festival is ushering in NYC’s summer of live events! Kicking off tonight, the 20th-anniversary celebration is the first major US festival to be held in-person. 66 films, along with anticipated TV series debuts, a lineup of shorts, live performances, podcasts and more will be held at temporary outdoor venues across the five boroughs.
Working with BNW Rigging, McLaren’s entertainment division provided structural engineering for custom structures that hold the massive outdoor LED screens at five individual festival showing locations: The Battery, Pier 76, Brookfield Place New York, Hudson Yards Public Square and Gardens, and Clinton Hall at Empire Outlets. To support scheduled speakers and events (including a live gig by glam rock band KISS after their documentary debut), festival sites were designed to include temporary stages.
Our team provided engineering support for various elements of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival: platforming/stages, tents, lighting/sound towers, and arches, in addition to preparing NYC permitting applications.
