164 Kent Waterfront Towers

McLaren Engineering Group provided the foundation and structural design for high-rise and low-rise structures at 164 Kent Avenue – a residential development on the Brooklyn waterfront. The project consists of two primary components – an inland block and a waterfront block. This mixed-use project included the structural design of a 29-story residential tower with 218,000 square feet of townhomes and condominiums.

Wind Tunnel Testing

One of the project’s highlights involved supervising wind tunnel testing of the tower models to determine design pressures for the structural and facade designs. The wind report enabled McLaren to optimize the design of the structure, foundation and facade for the strength, serviceability and cost – saving the client time, materials and money.

Waterside Improvements

McLaren also prepared the waterside improvements, bulkheads and piers on the east river for future ferry access.
