Orlando International Airport’s United Airlines MRO (maintenance repair, and overhaul facility) hangar prepared for maintenance work on Boeing B737-900 aircraft. Replacing a work station for a dissimilarly configured B757-300, the new plane required the creation of localized fall protection measures aligned to its specific position and proportions.
To protect repair technicians, rigid fall arrest rails needed to be reconfigured and added to suspend from the hangar roof and over each wing. McLaren’s Orlando office provided structural analysis of the roof framing overhead to ensure proper support of the pre-engineered safety systems.
