Hyatt Allentown Glazing Engineering

Working with the project’s commercial glazing contractor, McLaren was consulted on the design of the glass portioned facade and engineered the gravity-loaded mullion connections which attach to hollow core slabs for the new Hyatt Place/ Hyatt House Allentown West hotel.

The 130,000-square-foot development located at 611 Mill Creek Road in Allentown, PA, is a six-story hotel and restaurant complex. The Hyatt will sit on 12.7 acres of land near Air Products’s new corporate campus. A total of 110 rooms will be apportioned to Hyatt Place, with the remaining 95 dedicated to Hyatt House, an extended-stay property.

Facade Engineering

McLaren’s facade engineering team is responsible for coordinating loading onto the hollow core plan and cold-formed steel (CFS) framing. A preliminary review of the glazing loading and YKK AP’s YCW 750 XT curtain wall system was performed.
