Part of The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s (PANYNJ) $2.7 billion Terminal A complete redevelopment at Newark Airport (EWR) also provides for roadway and airside improvements, including a modern pedestrian canopy.
Developed by BAMCO inc., it will include approximately 50,000 square feet of solid 1/8” and 3/16” aluminum plate highlighted at overhang bullnoses and canopy columns. Construction of the covered structure also features a large stainless-steel gutter and sub framing. Providing light gage design, McLaren is working with BAMCO to engineer the airport’s pedestrian canopy’s cold-formed steel framing, fastener connections, and stainless-steel gutter.
The project’s anticipated completion will coincide with Terminal A’s official opening expected in 2022.
