One Rangers Way Building – Arlington Entertainment District Apartments

Opening in 2024, just steps from the home fields of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, One Rangers Way is an upscale eight-story mixed-use residential building in the heart of the Arlington Entertainment District adjacent to Texas Live!. The project aims to redevelop the site of an old stadium surface parking lot (Lot J) into one of the most luxurious resort style apartment communities in the country.

Mid-Rise Wood Frame Structure Over Concrete Podium

McLaren is providing full structural engineering services for One Ranger’s Way, from schematic design through design development and construction phase services. The 7-story building has been designed to meet National Green Building Standard (NGBS) certification with a sustainable wood frame constructed atop a post-tensioned concrete podium. Above, the building features 300+ residential units and a landscaped terrace while below-grade, there is a three-floor parking garage with nearly 400 spots. One Ranger’s Way will also include over 43,000 square feet of interior and exterior amenity space, including an expansive deck, green spaces, outdoor infinity pool, courtyard, fitness facilities, and office workspaces.

Arlington Aesthetic

On the northwest corner of the structure, a dramatically cantilevered block of units spans 3 stories to overlook the adjacent lake. To achieve the architect’s vision for a sloped-column aesthetic without increasing the building’s lateral load, McLaren’s design used symmetrical “V” columns to create a balanced load.

Signage

Additionally, to complete the Entertainment District vibe, the Ranger’s Way signage mimics the architecture of the adjacent baseball stadium. To achieve the look, McLaren designed the supports using structural steel.
