Community healthcare needs are directing Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) expansion across the region, providing more than 50 local neighborhoods with accessible facilities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. One of CHOP’s newest health facilities, Specialty Care & Surgery Center in King of Prussia, PA, replaces an old location nearby and provides increased services for area families including a children’s ambulatory surgery center.
Working with Metalwërks, McLaren Engineering Group provided structural engineering design of the solid and corrugated aluminum panel facade system and connections for the Specialty Care & Surgery Center’s buildings and parking garage, as well as the metal canopies and light-gauge clips.
The new center also includes 68 exam rooms, more than 30 medical and surgical subspecialties, a sports medicine gym, developmental PT/OT gym, Pediatric Imaging Center, Day Hospital for oncology patients, Sleep Center, and Urgent Care Center.
