SUNY Maritime College Waterfront Rehabilitation

McLaren Engineering Group performed inspections and provided rehabilitation design services for multiple marine structures for the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College on the Throggs Neck peninsula in the Bronx, NY.

McLaren provided comprehensive engineering services for this $11 million project, which took place in multiple phases. First, the firm inspected the campus’ Main Pier—performing a structural and load rating analysis and overseeing rehabilitation design of the 5,000 square foot deck surface.

McLaren then designed and installed new steel sheet pile bulkheads at the student activity center and the academic building. The sheet pile concrete cap also served as an extension to the pedestrian running path that lines the perimeter of the campus.

Finally, McLaren provided a 30-year master plan, environmental wave study and engineering design services for the college pier and boat basin.

Additional Marine Services

McLaren Engineering Group also provided a marine navigation study, pile driving inspections, pile design, and moving platform design.
